Mudgee's fertile soil and cool, dry climate are fast establishing a reputation as one of Australia's (and by default, the world's) premier viticulture regions. Situated in one of the district's prettiest spots, Botobolar (try saying that after a few glasses of wine) is home to some of Mudgee's oldest Chardonnay vines, and is also renowned for its Marsanne, a variety that is unique to the vineyard. And its Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are regular award winners.
