The Drayton family are the pioneers of Hunter Valley wine, and this winery takes you back to where it all began nearly one hundred and fifty years ago. One of the few remaining family owned companies in the district, Draytons Family Wines is now in the hands of Max Drayton, who is passing on his 50 year winemaking knowledge to his sons. Two of Draytons' best are the Chardonnay Verdelho and the Shiraz Merlot, both heady blends with soft, round palates. Barbeque facilities, a children's play area and premium wine tastings are available.
