Opened in 1995, it is run by the City of Botany Bay council and the Botany Historical Trust. The main exhibits are short-term exhibitions, generally running for three to six months, on subjects such as ecology, local history and aspects of present-day life in the area. The museum also has plans for a permanent display about the Botany wetlands. Admission is free.
