Believe it or not, the name of this restaurant is actually pronounced 'shirk' and is the Swedish word for kitchen. But do not worry, you will not have trouble pronouncing the names on the menu, as much of it is quite Australian, though with a definite Swedish touch. The setting is bright and airy, staff are friendly and the clientele mixed. Chef Lasse Skalman is happy to cook traditional Swedish food if you order it in advance. Otherwise try tasty dishes such as Steak with Shitake Mushrooms, Tea Smoked Trout with Swedish Potato Gratin, or seafood. The restaurant is licensed.
