This well respected theatre started life as a community hall and became a playhouse after the Second War. Located in Killara, on the North Shore, it features a good mix of contemporary drama and old favourites. As well as the intimate main theatre, there is a children's theatre, a drama centre and a the Downstairs Restaurant, which offers fine dining before or after the show. Marian Street theatre is now the home of Marina Street theatre for Young People, producing three fine children's plays a year, running twice a day during school holidays and on Saturdays at 1pm in term time. Speicalises in updated versions of classics and fairytales, as well as some original work for 3 to 10 year olds. Lots of energy; very freidnly atmosphere.
