This, the oldest surviving public building in Australia dates back to 1799 and was extended by Governor Macquarie between 1815 and 1816. Some of the original 18th century joinery, doors and other details still survive. Its interiors have been carefully restored and contain the most important collection of early colonial furniture in Australia. Well worth a visit. Admission: Adults AUD6; children AUD4; concession AUD4; family AUD15.
