Head downstairs from bustling George Street to the cosy, low-lit, intimate surrounds of Soup Plus, one of Sydney's premier jazz venues. Down the back of this tucked-away venue is the kitchen, where you can order a big bowl of soup, chilli or platters of nachos and sit back and get into the groove. Soup Plus has a smorgasbord of jazz musicians performing six nights a week on it is tiny, right-there stage--a line up ranging from young, experimental combos to swing bands, local identities and international stars. Admission: Cover charges around AUD5, depending on the band. Bookings advisable.
