Seating 1,547, this is home of the renowned Opera Australia and Australian Ballet. With an outstanding repertoire of both new and old, both companies stage several productions, running on consecutive night, around four times per year. The theatre has a wooden ceiling, which enhances the acoustics. It has a proscenium stage and a screen above it onto which English surtitles can be projected for performances sung in their original language.
